Prof. Bjorvatn's main research interests are in circadian rhythm sleep-wake disorders and insomnia. Prof. Bjorvatn has authored more than 220 original peer-reviewed articles, several review papers, and many chapters in English textbooks (e.g. chapters on circadian rhythm sleep-wake disorders in the official European Sleep Medicine Textbook). Prof. Bjorvatn has written four books in Norwegian (one on how to cope with night work and irregular working hours) and more than 300 publications in Norwegian. H-index: 57. He is working clinically with patients one day per week at Bergen Sleep Disorders Center, which he founded in 1996.
